BO – H1N1
Do people smell or are aware that they smell? While not frequent occurring, when you are around people with BO, it’s really repulsive.
For whatever reasons, I had 2 encounters within 2 days. Just two day ago, to free my wife from the need to cook, I decided that we could go to the Mall in the West for lunch. What hit me was totally unexpected! Hoping to smell some delicious aroma, what I got was the smell of an Indian! ( I am definitely not race biased but It’s the most direct description of the smell). The smell associated with their hair. While I always admire Indian ladies with their long luscious hair and I totally abhor the smell.
A quick glance around to find the culprit, I found 5 groups of families of mothers and children within the foodcourt. I have never seen so many (or rather any) Indians here. The culprit was a newly open Indian food stall.
Anyway, they don’t they know that their aroma can be repulsive? Imagine taking the lift or the train with them. I will be suffocated. Talking about the train, that’s the second incident.
Again, to minimized cooking at home, we decided to go downtown. And since road closure was expected for the NDP, we took the train. Everything was nice and fine till Tiong Bahru. Up came 3 PRCs in their work attire. I really do not know they last wash their uniform! It just made me regretting not driving.
I look around to see how others responded to the intrusion and found the way to minimize the spread of H1N1 or any airborne virus. Everyone was controlling their breadth!!

Is it alright to be completed naked in the swimming pool changing room??
Is it a third world practice? Is it an intrusion to ones privacy? is it degrading? Is being stark naked really bad in a public changing room?
The issue was raised in the forum. Someone raised the protest to me a couple of days ago?
I do not know what's the current Army standard, having completed my reservist more than 10 years. In those days, army buddies just do it. With 5 minutes to shower, who cares what hangs between your legs. Just get it over and be ready to wait.
So when this local post NS boy wrote in with a strong feedback on how embarassing it was to be naked in changing rooms with others, i was like... "Have I lost touch with the real world??"
I still bathe with my sons occasionally. We have no problem though the teenage boy is starting to want some privacy .. probably he is quite well hung for his age!
That's bring me to the next thing, I guess while you are open to being naked, it's good to maintain the apperance. My advice to my teenage son..."For hygiene sake, please go trim !!!" I am not saying showing off but if it's messy and do trim a little. I think it's less warm and definitely more hygienic as it's easier to maintain and keep dry.
If you can take the pain, go waxed it off. It's definitely neater. Can you find bushy XXX-rated actors??
So what can you do if you are faced with so many naked bodies in the changing room? Go change in a cubicle with door; assume you did not see anyone: go use another more suitable facilities or have your own private facility. I really salivate at the open concept shower facilities in some private homes .. open sky as roof, glass or foliage as wall, rain shower type shower head, jacuzzi in a toilet the size of my bedroom...that's a sign of someone who has made it in life ...
Sinagpore Zoo has excellent open concept toilet too...
And for the boy who is giving me the headache, plaese don't ask me for cubicles for the urinal!!

If you are not comfortable being naked with others, you sure gonna missed the spa experience in Japan, Korea and Taiwan.

Sex on the Beach!
Just gotten home after a 4 niter at Laguna Redang. Our 4th annual trip in June since 2006. It was indeed a busy period for them with both the Malaysian and Singapore School vacation just started.
Housekeeping staff must be up to their neck trying turnover the rooms for the incoming guests.
Due to the peak season, we had to pay premium rates for the room and the cheaper rooms were not available and we had to settle for a room with the view of the Open Sea! It was just great..
Redang trips is always a breeze for the family --- breakfast, snorkel and play at the beach till lunch, Lunch, nap, more snorkelling and playing at the beach till dinner, Dinner, cocktail at beachside bar and sleep. Everything at your own time own target... simple as that. Meal from the A la carte menu is all inclusive in our package. So we need only pay for the drinks.Less than 20 ringgit per meal for 5 of us..
On the 3rd nite, my wife decided that she wanted have Sex on the Beach!! Why not? We were all relax and it was 1 day after our 16th wedding anniversary, I was still lusting for her and the weather was great ..breezy with thousands of stars and a new moon above us.
After having Sex on the Beach, my wife commented that it wasn't as great as Singapore?? There wasn't sufficient spirit to it and after having it for 1/2 an hour, she still could not get high??? She was pondering if she should have another when my son said.." Mum, can you say that you want A Sex on the Beach instead of Sex in the Beach? You really spoil my appetite !!" I offered my Pina Colada to her instead...
By the way, we had 4 black tip sharks swimming around us in knee deep water the day we were at Shark bay. We also spotted a slinky octopus hiding among the rocks. Other than that, the waves pretty strong at the Marine park to permit easy snorkeling and there were way too many people at the park and it was really difficult trying to manoeuvre our way around without getting kick....
Still wondering we we make our 5th trip next year....

Anyone to share photos of SIT Flats at Princess Elizabeth Estate??
I live there for 12 years some 30 years ago but do not have any photo to show. Schooled at PEES where I picked up badminton and table tennis. Had some of the best teachers of my schooling days starting with the nurturing Mrs Lee Siew Choh (wife of Basisan Socialist Stalwart) and the good guidance of Mr Tirlok Singh. Off course, there was the ever sexy Mrs Olivia Looi - thinks she is just way to modern then with body hugging dresses ...
The 3 storey 2 bedroom flat had a large balcony and we had only 1 neighbour across the corridor. The best neighbour you can possibly have. What we did not have, they would share. I enjoyed Mr See's aviary of budgie, canary and burong kuku. I also enjoyed his large concrete tank of guppy, swordtail and angelfishes.
Then there was the telephone that we can use when needed, the food that Auntie Elizabeth shared..You know how good can peranakan food be.
Learn to cycle on the Tony's bicycle. Even slept out along the corridor with him on a few occasions. The corridor and the staircase is without doubt the cleanest in the entire estate. Why? Because we wash them monthly. No Hi-jet, just manual scrubbing.
The Sees even had a President Scholar among them!!
Sad to say, have not been in contact for a long while..
Went back to the Estate only about 6 -7 years ago and by then, the flats were long replaced by taller HDB flats. I have got photos of the HDB flats but sadly none of the SIT flats..
So sad...
